Running Out of Time? We’re Not Out of Ideas

Last-minute ideas that still land

That tiny voice in your head might be wondering if it’s too late.

Good news. It’s not.

Valentine’s Day doesn’t need weeks of planning or a big budget to feel meaningful.

Here are a few last-minute ideas that can be organised in a pinch:

1. Dinner date out

It’s a classic for a reason. While you might have a tough time booking a spot at your favourite restaurant, there should still be time to book a memorable spot.

This could even be an opportunity to try something outside your comfort zone.

2. Dinner date in

Ordering their favourite takeout is always possible no matter how late you leave it.

Add one small extra touch, like massage oil and a cosy blanket, and it will feel like a planned evening in, rather than another night at home.

3. Print the memories you both love

We take thousands of photos with our phones but rarely turn them into framed moments anymore.

Places like Warehouse Stationery can print those favourite memories out for you to pop into frames or even create an album.

In this day in age, it’s surprisingly meaningful to have something physical to keep on a desk, bedside table, or bookshelf. Bonus points if you include a handwritten message on the back of each photo explaining why those moments matter to you.

4. The gift that keeps on giving

If your partner has a favourite hobby, an online subscription or experience can be booked online.

For example:

  • A monthly tasting subscription for a whisky or coffee lover
  • A workshop they’ve mentioned wanting to try
  • Tickets to an upcoming show, event, or class

Print the details, pop them in a card, and reveal the special surprise on the day.

5. Plan a future getaway

Use a travel site to find a weekend escape for the two of you.

You don’t need to book everything right now:

  • Choose a destination
  • Pick a few experiences or places to visit
  • Print a simple itinerary or create a mood board

Flesh out the getaway together over dinner and let the anticipation grow.

So there you have it. We know it’s easy to feel pressure around Valentine’s Day, especially when everyone on social media makes it look so grand and expensive.

But we say don’t take a made up holiday too seriously and try to have a little fun with it.

If you can offer that, even at the last minute, you’re doing it right.

Reminder: if you’re reading this before 1pm on the 12th you can still check out our gift giving page. All orders made before then will arrive for Valentine’s Day.
